Optibac Saccharomyces Boulardii, 80s

£28.97

Unique microorganism, introduced to the UK by OptiBac, 5 billion live cultures guaranteed per capsule. It does not interfere with other supplements, is well researched and used safely across the world for the last 50 years.

Optibac Saccharomyces Boulardii is a friendly, non-colonizing, transient yeast species of probiotic. It may be very beneficial in balancing intestinal microbiology. This is because it produces lactic acid, and helping to ease off symptoms of diarrhoea.

Each capsule provides on average five billion live viable colonies. They will survive the challenges of the stomach acid and bile in the human digestive tract. Does not require refrigeration.

Optibac Saccharomyces Boulardii Ingredients: Live cultures: Saccharomyces boulardii; vegetarian capsule: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.

Directions:
Take one capsule daily. You may increase up to six capsules daily as desired or as professionally directed. Take it at high dose, or as a maintenance. You will know if you are taking two many as you may become constipated.
Note: If taking anti-fungal supplements, take separately (at least two hours apart).
For those unable to swallow capsules, open and mix contents with cool drink/food.

Study:

If you are interested in knowing more on the links between Saccharomyces Boulardii and gut health, click HERE. This is from that study: Saccharomyces boulardii is a probiotic yeast often used for the treatment of GI tract disorders such as diarrhea symptoms. It is genetically close to the model yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae and its classification as a distinct species or a S. cerevisiae variant is subject of research. Here, we review the main genetic divergencies between S. boulardii and S. cerevisiae. This is a strategy to uncover the ability to adapt to the host physiological conditions by the probiotic.

S. boulardii does possess discernible phenotypic traits and physiological properties that underlie its success as probiotic. These are optimal growth temperature, resistance to the gastric environment and viability at low pH. Its probiotic activity shows a conjunction of multiple pathways. These range from improvement of gut barrier function to pathogen competitive exclusion. But also production of antimicrobial peptides, immune modulation, and trophic effects. This review summarizes the participation of S. boulardii in these mechanisms and the multifactorial nature by which this yeast modulates the host microbiome and intestinal function.”
