IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) affects a staggering 15-20% of the global population.
There are three differentiations within IBS: IBS-D, associated with Diarrhoea, affecting 25.4% of the total sufferers; IBS-C, related to Constipation, affecting 24.1%; IBS-M, which is a Mix of the two, at 46.7%.
IBS involves symptoms of abdominal pain, bloating and cramps, which make daily activities very uncomfortable. Change in stool frequency, appearance and form, with unpredictable onset of diarrhoea, will make it difficult and frustrating to plan social events.
